Waverly Families,

Welcome to Waverly Avenue Elementary School's website! I am excited to welcome both new and returning families as we begin the 2026-27 school year. It is an honor to serve as principal of Waverly Avenue Elementary School, and I look forward to another year of learning, growth, and memorable experiences for our students.

Waverly Avenue Elementary School serves students in UPK through 5th grade, educating approximately 500 children mostly from the communities of Holtsville and Farmingville. Our dedicated teachers and staff work tirelessly to create warm and welcoming classroom environments for students.  Through engaging instruction and meaningful learning experiences, we are committed to helping every child grow academically, socially, and emotionally while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

At Waverly, we believe that every child can succeed. By maintaining high expectations, building strong relationships, and providing the supports students need, we strive to help each learner reach their full potential. Whether through engaging classroom instruction, the arts, extracurricular opportunities, or social-emotional learning, our goal is to develop well-rounded students who are prepared for success in middle school and beyond.

One of Waverly's greatest strengths is the partnership we share with our families. Our PTA plays a tremendous role in supporting our students and staff through enriching programs, memorable events, and countless volunteer efforts throughout the year. I encourage every family to become involved in our school community. When schools and families work together, students thrive.

This school year marks my 9th year as Principal of Waverly, my 21st year in Sachem, and my 23rd year in education. As a proud Sachem graduate myself - having attended Nokomis Elementary, Seneca Middle School, Sachem High School South (no Samoset Middle School), and Sachem High School North - it continues to be incredibly meaningful to serve the community that helped shape my own educational journey. I remain grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated students, families, faculty, and staff.

As always, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns by email or by calling the main office at (631) 654-8690.

Here’s to another great year!

Best,

Kevin
